uly 11, 2010 -- After a month, the games are over. But before Spain won the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Shakira, Nelson Mandela and a giant vuvuzela made of a human chain highlighted the closing ceremony with a bang and a dose of hope for world unification.
Not sure if Nelson Mandela was going to be able to make an appearance, the great anti-apartheid leader did -- big time, driving in a golf car limousine across the hallowed grounds of Soccer Stadium. Shakira appeared too, rocking her 'Waka Waka' theme song as everyone there became nostaligic. And the light shows shown spectacular, one of which took the shape of the ever present vuvuzela, a staple in South Africa at any athletic event.
